Phi Nu Installation /?p=1597 /?p=1597#comments Mon, 11 Oct 2010 20:47:29 +0000 brother /?p=1597

On Saturday, thirteen Chi Delta brothers drove up to Newport News, VA for the Installation of the 47th chapter of Psi Upsilon at Christopher Newport University. There we joined two alumni, Justin Butner (‘04) and Tim Zepp (‘08) in welcoming the Phi Nu chapter to Psi U. We enjoyed a nice banquet with parents, family, and friends of the Phi Nu chapter, as well as members of the Phi Delta (Mary Washington University), Sigma Phi (St. Francis University) and Eta (Lehigh University) chapters. After the banquet, we went back to a Phi Nu’s house to hang out and get better acquainted with our new brothers.

Homecoming /?p=1585 /?p=1585#comments Tue, 28 Sep 2010 20:02:25 +0000 brother /?p=1585

Homecoming has just finished. We’d like to thank all the alumni who came down, and send our greetings to those who couldn’t make it. We were graced with the presence of several alumni from near the beginning of our chapter’s history, including the first female brother, Marilyn Hamilton, along with several more recent alumni from the local community and from much further away.

This year’s Homecoming featured the traditional Bullock’s dinner on Friday, followed by a light dessert social.  We made a trip to House AA, whose current occupants were kind enough to let us take a look around. Saturday featured a CDAA Meeting, followed by a Brothers’ Meeting, food off the grill, and then the football game.  Congratulations to Paul Wrayno and Toastie for winning our first ever Homecoming Spades tournament!  There was a chocolate fountain social Saturday night and a small brunch on Sunday.

The chapter always loves to see alumni, whether at these larger events or just from day to day. The alumni who came here enjoyed themselves, and we had a great time hanging out with them. If you’d ever like to drop by, you’re more than welcome! Always feel free to contact our Alumni Correspondent, Lisa Gutermuth, by e-mail or phone (919 – 410 – 7748).

Psi U’s Guide to the Galaxy /?p=1581 /?p=1581#comments Mon, 13 Sep 2010 00:13:15 +0000 brother /?p=1581 Psi U had its first party of the year on the 11th of September and it was a great success! With the theme “Psi U’s Guide to the Galaxy”, involving numerous references to the Hitchhiker’s Guide and space in general, there were numerous activities from an “Infinite Improbability Rave” to a lightsaber dueling room (Jedi vs. Sith). Plus there were muffins with star-shaped sprinkles at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe, a displaced “Western Galaxy” one-eyed barman at the Bar at the Other End of the Universe…and a lot of new guests and partying brothers.
